Sorry it took me so long to do this one, guise. I've had so much to do unrelated to Star Trek (astounding, I know) including bageling and getting my art scene under way BUT during my lunch break every day I diligently read some Killing Time to, well, kill time. I know you're eager, so let's get the styrofoam boulder rolling.

LeVar Burton (TNG's Geordi La Forge) attended/gave a panel with his BFF and business partner at "Breakthrough Brit Week" in West Hollywood last week.

Actor LeVar Burton attends Breakthrough Brit Week roundtable discussion With Mark Wolfe And LeVar Burton at The London Hotel on November 3, 2009 in West Hollywood, California.
( Breakthrough Brit Week )
He also tweeted some awesome photos from (I assume) the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation benefit dinner and memorabilia/autograph thingy on the 7th.

Michael Dorn, Buzz Aldrin, LeVar Burton, and Marina Sirtis
Awesome.
( 1 MOAR )
IDEK. I'm giggling like a little kid. I think that Reading Rainbow episode where they visit the TNG set is the reason I'm a Trekkie. I can't be the only one.

Up is, quite seriously, one of best films I've ever seen. I admit I love anything by Pixar on principle, but Up is really a beautiful film. Just watching this film makes me feel happy, and it's one of the movies that's made me bawl like a baby every single time I've seen it. If you haven't seen it already, do yourself a favor and go out and get it. I promise that you won't regret it. Oddly enough, I've never touched any of Pixar's films before as picspam material, and I've never done an animated movie, either. All the caps were taken and edited by me, so please don't steal them to use elsewhere. That said, please enjoy!

Whoa, guys. BoingBoing just linked to this auction item at CharityBuzz:

Enjoy a Private Tour of Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, CA with Leonard Nimoy!
So far, the highest bid is just over 5K. Anyone got enough extra shekels lying around to top that?

Characters in this chapter: Tim Riggins, Julie Taylor, Sam Winchester
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1,700
Disclaimer: SPN and FNL are copyright their respective copyright holders. I don't own anything here and am just doing this for fun.
Warnings/Spoilers: For FNL, this is set after Julie's graduation. For SPN, it's the middle of Season 1.
Summary: On a literature-inspired road trip of the Deep South, Julie and Tim's excellent adventure takes them right into the path of the WInchester Brothers.
Previous Chapters: Chapter One, Chapter Two, Chapter Three, Chapter Four, Chapter Five
Tim woke up slowly, as though he was surfacing from a great depth. The sun slanting in through the blinds made him reluctant to open his eyes. When he finally did, he blinked a few times as the room came into focus.

here @ my journal
Before there was Buffy the Vampire Slayer and long before there was ever a Twilight, there was The Vampire Diaries. I remember when these books first came out, before they became so popular and got turned into a television show aired on the CW every Thursday night before Supernatural. To sit and think about these books and these wonderful characters, the story they had to tell, the stories they inspired - I am like a kid in a candy store, because wow what a fantastic world it was back then. Still is now, just in a different media sense. True facts, he show has nothing on the books, but it does have pretty music and pretty people I like on it. Hai, Damon. So, even though it took me a while to settle in on a subject to picspam for this particular challenge, I had to mix both the books with the show itself. So, you get Damon and Elena's first meeting, dialouge from the book Awakening and obvious caps from the second episode of the show. This will be spoilery if you haven't read the book or seen any episodes of the show. Enjoy, because I worked really hard on this. ♥

Yet another reason why I love this town!
Boston Mayor Tom Menino made it so today.
He tied it to the day of New England Fan Experience convention (see details here), which Leonard himself will attend on November 14th! Along with "Q" John De Lancie, Gareth David-Lloyd from Torchwood and other fine people.
According to this convention schedule, Nimoy will be having photo-ops from 11:30, autograph signing from 1-4PM, and then will hold Q&A panel from 5-6PM.
And I may not be able to go as I've only heard about this today... But maybe other people from Boston can? Maybe we can try to meet and go there?
Leonard Nimoy is in town, and on his day, come on, we should make it happen!
And maybe we can celebrate this event here, in this community tomorrow? We can start with this. :)

UPD: Nimoy also gave an interview to Boston Phoenix, and it appeared under a very appropriate title "Hot Vulcan". :)
He speaks about Three Men and a Baby, politics in Star Trek, Ballad of Bilbo Baggins and Barack Obama. Great piece!
( Proclamation under the cut! )

Summary: They spend the night listening to each other breathe.
Notes: Spoilers for The Rough Patch. Also, Barney's POV was extremely exhausting for me to write, so all con-crit is most welcome.

Well
It's coming along
I can only stand it for bursts of about 500 words at a time
And the plot keeps shifting on me
Also the research trip I was going to take today to help with that
thing I call "the middle" didn't work out, and I don't know when I'll
be able to get to the library for it now ...
Ah well ...
